COURSE DESCRIPTION

Healthcare organizations and provider groups are focused on creating high-quality and wholistic cancer care programs within their communities for persons diagnosed with cancer and their caregivers. Organizations and provider groups seek the framework, guidelines, and recommendations from national oncology stakeholders and accrediting bodies to earn certifications and/or accreditations to showcase meeting high standards of care and clinical practice guidelines.

In this seminar the presenter will discuss the value and benefit that oncology-related accreditations and certifications has on the organization, the person diagnosed with cancer, and the community. The audience will learn about specific oncology industry programs that provide guidelines and mandate standards related to cancer rehabilitation, supportive care, and survivorship.

The presenter will discuss the role the interdisciplinary cancer rehabilitation team plays in meeting guidelines and standards in order to elevate their practice, reduce clinical variation, deliver standardized care and work as a cohesive team to provide resources for cancer care needs and deliver optimal coordinated treatment and patient outcomes.


OBJECTIVES / AIMS

  • Review specific oncology industry programs that provide guidelines and mandate standards related to cancer rehabilitation, supportive care, and survivorship.
